fog along the bayou – I’m a fog girl. There’s no getting around that fact. I love to breathe it in, to let it envelope me. There’s something about the moody overcoat that fog wears that entices me; it’s altogether sexy and, suprisingly, never over-the-top. Kind of like a lover’s deliberate breath on your neck at 6 AM, fog is seductive, it gets your heart pumping, and it leaves you wanting more.
I chose fog along the bayou because I particularly liked the way the silhouetted tree in the foreground had a graphic design quality to it. In addition, I was drawn to the “other side of the tracks” feel to the image. The haves. The have nots. Finally, as is the case with all fog photos, I love the sense of solitude.
Three fog photos that just missed the top ten this year are dreaming of fog season, which was actually shot in 2006, but wasn’t processed until 2007, before 8 am [two] , and before 8 am [go there] .
