Hermann Park [Evening Edition]

Hope everyone is ready for the weekend.  I can’t believe it’s March already!  In Houston, March means the beginning of the wildflower season, the bird migration season and “it’s time to play outdoors” season.  So much to look forward to!

But before all that starts, I need to post my most recent “fun with camera” session from a few days ago.  I’ve started taking the camera out again without any intent to create “decorative” images.  Just shooting in the places I plan to be.  A few days ago, I planned to be at Hermann Park.  It was late afternoon, and before I could say “sunshiny day,” the sun set.  This is what the park looked like — the lights, the textures, the architecture — when the daylight faded.

A few other thoughts, mentions and shares.
  • Some absolutely gorgeous and artistic wedding photography from Carlos Varela over at Cava Weddings.  Seriously, it’s inspiring event work.  Taken at the New York Public Library.  My personal favorites are #29, #33 and #65.  Not too shabby, huh?
  • A cute illustration by Marc Johns for my friends who enjoy spending time in the kitchen.
  • Steve McCurry, known for his portraiture, was given the last Kodachrome film by Kodak.  His last photo — not a portrait.  The resulting photos are varied and fascinating.

Have a great weekend!  And find the good.
